Chatsworth House | A Birthday Walk | New Processing

Readers of this blog will already know that last week was Erica’s birthday. The gardens at Chatsworth House used to be a very frequent destination for us and we used to hold a season ticket. But then when you shoot weddings every weekend, season tickets have the habit of not getting used and we unfortunately let our membership lapse as we just never had the time to go. We do still go every so often, and Erica’s birthday was one such occasion. Having been to the gardens so many times, we tend to not photograph the more common sights and just enjoy some of the quieter parts of the garden that for some reason, not many people seem to go into. Anyway, for our most recent visit we had pretty special weather, and what’s more, armed with a new Canon 5D mkIII I was quite eager to spend some time trying things out. I also thought it would be a good opportunity to try out a few different post-processing styles….our usual style is fairly natural and punchy, and some of the photos below are a different approach that I’m playing around with. I’m not sure whether I’ll adopt this different style wholesale as I feel our usual style is really starting to be embedded into what we do, but it’s interesting to try a few different things. Anyway, here’s Erica on her birthday at Chatsworth.
