I love Portra 160 on a sunny day and it’s one of those film stocks where I know exactly how it’s going to look on film when I’m lining up the shot in my camera. When I look at scenes I have often thought that I have my own built-in filter that sees in hues of Portra 800 and Fuji 400H, which incidentally reminds me that once or twice I have had dreams that have been based in a Fuji 400H colour palette. I guess it’s not surprising considering I spend most waking hours each and every day looking at film! Today, though, I looked at the light and instantly thought ‘Portra 160’, and so coupled with my Pentax 67ii I headed out to see what the streets of Hope had to offer. The photo walk around Hope ended on a high when I chatted to a very stylishly dressed Harley Davidson rider and she agreed to one or two photos.
