Music is extremely important to me, and for years now I have enjoyed listening to it, writing it, and playing it. I have my dad to thank for this really. He was a successful professional musician  in the late 60s and early 70s and it’s because of him that I first ever picked up a guitar. There aren’t many days when I don’t at least pick up my Gibson acoustic guitar for 5 or 10 minutes, although I have quite a collection of amazing guitars that don’t see nearly as much use now as I would like. Thinking about all this gave me the idea of starting a small project simply based on photographing my collection of guitars, so the other night I grabbed my acoustic guitar, a roll of Ilford Delta 3200, my Pentax 67ii (and some extension tubes), and an LED light. I wanted to keep a very simple approach, so I’m considering whether to shoot this whole project in the same way – one light, same film stock, same camera. So here’s the first guitar in my collection; custom made by Gibson in Montana, my black Standard acoustic….Dev/scan UK Film Lab
