Derbyshire Countryside on Film | Contax | Fuji 400H

As anyone in the UK will know, we’ve been having bad weather for weeks now – high winds and rain have been the order of the day, most days. I’ve been getting withdrawal symptoms from getting out with my camera and shooting some film, so when we saw that today looked dry we headed out. I’ve been shooting my Leica M6 a lot recently, and mostly black and white film, so today I decided to take along my Contax 645 and my all-time-favourite – Fuji 400H. My eye has been wandering lately and I’ve found myself thinking more about how the 6×7 format might suit my composition, so to try to dissuade my eye from wandering further and on to eBay, I’m going to start using my Contax more so that I can remember everything I like about 6×4.5! Anyway, today we headed to one of our favourite places in England, and it just so happens that it’s local to us: the Chatsworth Estate. The house and gardens are still closed for a few more weeks so we spent a few hours wandering around the surrounding countryside and to a few places we’d not been.

Here are some of my photos, shot on Contax 645 with the Zeiss 80mm f/2 lens, using Fuji 400H. All processing/scanning at UK Film Lab.
