South Gare etcetera on Neopan | Leica M6

A few weeks ago we took a trip to South Gare on the coast. I blogged my colour film a while ago (and you can see it here), but it’s taken me a little while to finish off the roll of Fuji Neopan black and white film in my Leica. Running a lab, when I have time to develop and scan my own work without too much of a wait, I feel I lose out on one of the aspects that people enjoy about shooting film: the nervous but excited anticipation of waiting to see your photos. This time, however, because it took me a while to finish off this roll, I had a taste of the anticipation once again!

Here are my photos from South Gare, and to finish off the roll today I shot a few of Erica at a place a few minutes away from home, and then of course a couple back in the lab while waiting for chemistry to come up to temperature! (The latter were lit solely by a daylight LED light). I have been getting into black and white film much more, recently, with a view to taking a more technical approach to the exposure. I can thoroughly recommend The Negative by Ansel Adams (the creator of the Zone System) for anyone looking to do the same.
