Edensor Village Film Photographs | Chatsworth Estate | An Anniversary Day Trip

A few weeks ago it was our 7th wedding anniversary and so we took the day off and decided to take a trip out to Edensor village on the Chatsworth Estate. It’s where the Dowager Duchess lives, and though we’ve been to Chatsworth countless times, we’ve never really visited Edensor, despite us having to drive past the gate in order to get to Chatsworth! Edensor is a little bit Desperate Housewives meets England….perfectly manicured gardens, flowers everywhere, but with some quite unique architecture. It also turns out that JFK’s sister is buried in the churchyard there having once been married to the 10th Duke’s eldest son.

I had my Contax 645 film camera with me armed with 2 film backs: one with Ilford HP5 400 black and white film (the first black and white film I’ve ever shot) and my favourite Fuji 400H. The Ilford was one stop overexposed, and the Fuji as per usual: 1 to 2 stops. All film processed and scanned by RPL. No post-processing carried out.

Lucy Stendall - I’ve never been to Edensor either, I must stop one of these days. Loved the Chatsworth documentary on tv, which featured a bit about the village.

I love the colour shots of Erica…now be honest did you buy her those Sweet Williams or pinch them from the Dowager’s garden?
