More Film | Contax 645 medium format film photography

Following on from my last post, I’ve started occasionally shooting just a few frames of film at weddings when all the digital shots are ‘in the bag’, so to speak. I want to really get a feel for the differences between digital and film both in terms of the look as well as how to get the best out of each format. So far, I’m quite pleased with how things are turning out. I’ve only seen the results from Fuji 400H…I’ve used Portra 400 at a few weddings too but not had those rolls back from the lab yet, so I’ll be quite interested to see which film stock I favour most. So here’s some film from a couple of weddings. All shot with Contax 645, CZ 80mm f2, and Fuji 400H. Over-exposed 2 to 3 stops, developed and scanned by RPH. No post-processing.

Tony Ng - Fuji Pro 400h does deliver a natural color. I like all of your photos.

Alex - I noticed the 645 make an appearance during our wedding shoot, it would appear my inner camera geek never switches off. Looking at these results it seems to suit your style perfectly and I quite like the idea that a couple of the shots from our big day were taken on film.
