A Time To Grow

I know the title of this blog post sounds kind of deep, but rest assured, the content is not. It’s just about a picture. Well the picture I’ve made here (below) is pretty much what I intended, apart from one thing. The original idea was for the picture to show some delicate little flower apparently growing out of the small mound of soil in my hands. Well it would appear that just when you’re in need of one of those delicate little flowers, there were none to be found…well, at least none that would sit upright in their makeshift home for the 1/500 second duration of the photo. So what have I used instead? A weed. At least it’s one less weed growing out of our patio, right? So let’s all forget the potential meaning of the photo being that I nurture weeds…let it be about nature! Anyway, aside from the original idea, the other aspects I wanted to incorporate into the photo were : soft, creamy filmic skin tones, and soft natural light…..I think it ticks those boxes? Nothing much done in terms of post-processing as the skin tones from the Canon 5D mkIII seem so good straight out of camera. Here it is:

Kelly J - I love it, it’s very clean. I did something quite similar a few months ago; http://placeinthedirt.deviantart.com/art/It-s-easier-to-hate-and-harder-to-love-281111100 I couldn’t find a flower either haha.
