Asparagus with Parma Ham and Lemon | A Very Simple Recipe

Looking for something to cook that’s simple yet tasty? Then this is for you and it takes 10 minutes from start to finish, tops. It’s also a good choice for anybody on a low carb diet. So to start, you need some asparagus…not the big stuff but the reasonably small, fine stuff. I think they might even be called asparagus tips. Give them a rinse and chop a tiny bit off the bottom of each stem. No, wait, I have a better idea. Let’s do it this way:

Ingredients:

Asparagus tips (one pack)

Parma ham- few slices

Salt and pepper

Olive oil

Half a lemon

So, back to the process. Preheat your oven to 200 degrees, gas mark 34365. (Bear in mind I have no idea about gas marks). Chop a tiny bit off the bottom of each stem of asparagus, and then bundle 3 or 4 stems together by wrapping one or two slices of parma ham around them. Do this until you’ve used up all your asparagus. Lay them out on a baking tray, season with salt and pepper (but not too much salt because parma ham is already quite salty), drizzle over some olive oil, and then squeeze a little bit of the lemon over the top. Place the part-squeezed half lemon on the baking tray next to the asparagus bundles and then place in the oven for 7 to 8 minutes and no longer. When cooked the asparagus should be tender but not soft. Carefully (because it will be HOT) squeeze the lemon over the top of your asparagus. Et voila! Serve with a nice steak and salad, or just serve as a tasty starter. It should look something like this:
